Bootleg Alert! Hasbro DEADPOOL (Red variant)

This is Loosecollector Customs. Where we put bootleggers in tight underpants, and give them a wedgie.

First, let's thank our friend, Jomar of Land Orys Toy Center for providing both figures we have today. Thank you dude!

This Deadpool was bootlegged like mad lately. He came in different colors (pic by Ultimatetoycollector1). Today we will be reviewing the red variant.

On all the pics, left side is the original item, right side is the bootleg. Note that it is a bootleg and not a factory overrun. A bootleg is an unauthorized copy of a legitimate item. Say, the bootleggers stole an official mold or recasted each part of the real thing and sold the copies for profit. Way to go guys!

At first glance, you can immediately notice the inferiority of the one on the right in terms of color quality, paint applications and overall "look". On hand, the bootleg also feels lighter, the plastic used is flimsy and overall, it has a cheap, shiny finish compared to the nice, matte of the legit one. For customizers, if you dremel the fake one, I advice to NOT sniff any vapor or dust off it. Might contain lead and is a helluva drug. Other differences are...

Original...
- harness has a slight bluish-grey hue, deep red dot and reddish brown bag
- the buckles on his leg holster are painted silver

 Bootleg...
- harness has duller colors and darker brown bags
- on our sample, the buckles on his leg holster are not painted. Some bootlegs have them, as seen below (Thanks to Glassman for the pic and info)...

Original...
- scabbards maintain their shape and stay on the harness very well.

Bootleg...
- scabbards come warped and easily fall off the slots.

Original...
- smooth and vibrant paints with really sharp lines
- black rectangles on his chest are farther apart

Bootleg...
- the red is really dull and the lines are crooked. Hurray for underpaid, child labor I guess.
- black rectangles on his chest are closer together

Original...
- also has black rectangles on the back

Bootleg...
- the one we have is missing the black rectangles on the back. NONE. Just straight lines. But don't be fooled. Some bootlegs have them like so...

Original...
Rifle - has deadpool logo and is made of good quality material that stays straight
Sword - straight and has gold coloring
Pistol - sharp, sculpted details show

Bootleg...
Rifle - has NO deadpool logo and is made of cheap, warpy plastic, if that's even a word.
Sword - it's like the Hulk chewed on it for a good while. The one we have are silver, but some of the bootlegs have the gold coloring too.
Pistol - almost looks like the real thing! The difference is almost unnoticeable. Well done lads.

If you are shopping for this specific Deadpool and you don't have an original one in hand to compare, the best ways to spot the bootlegs are the missing rectangles on the back and unpainted leg holster buckles (at times for both, not always), warped swords and bendy gun with no logo. You see those, stay away.... unless you want to sniff some lead.

Hope this helps guys. Keep loving the hobby :)!
